Eric Clem
Eric Clem brings eleven years of achievement in business strategy, operations engineering, customer service, project and technology management from the private/public sectors and from multinational and startup firms. Most recently, Mr. Clem created detailed business venture, implementation, and management plans for established and startup organizations seeking funds from venture groups. His sector experience in this regard includes artificial intelligence software, medical devices, business services, and real estate planning.
Mr. Clem has served as Director of Operations at NTT-Verio, where he re-engineered and led a $100 million provisioning and customer service organization. During his tenure, Mr. Clem helped design and implement a major ERP and CRM initiative and developed operations organizations and processes with strategic alliance partners such as Gateway, Inc.
At Exponent, Inc., Mr. Clem co-founded a new management practice that developed asset management plans for Fortune 500 firms. Prior to that, Mr. Clem was a Senior Environmental Engineer at International Paper Company, where he re-designed environmental and emergency planning operations at manufacturing facilities. As an interim director of planning and zoning for Person County, North Carolina, he was responsible for leading all departmental regulatory activities.
Beginning his career at Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Mr. Clem led complex financial analyses that identified the economic, financial, environmental, and security impacts of major ($1 billion +) transportation infrastructure improvement projects in the United States and abroad.
Mr. Clem's academic accomplishments include an MBA in Strategy and Technology Management from the University of Washington, in Seattle, WA, where he was also honored as a Fellow of the UW Center for Technology Entrepreneurship, a Masters degree in Water and Air Resource Management from Duke University, and a BS degree in Finance and Economics from the University of Maryland.
